São Pedro Church – Torres Novas

Built by Diogo Gonçalves Pimentel, in the third quarter of the 14th century, the São Pedro Church in Torres Novas was subject to many rehabilitation works. It was rebuilt after the 1755’s earthquake and also after the destruction caused by the French Invasions.

It is a three naves temple in which there is a stonework triumphal arch with the São Pedro insignia and a barrel vault presbytery, covered in polychrome tiles from the seventeenth-century.
