Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Carvoeiro Chapel

The Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Carvoeiro Chapel is an example of the sixteenth-century religious architecture in the municipality of Mação. It comprises a nave and a presbytery. The inside, dimly lit, has wood ceilings and a barrel vault. The mannerist main altarpiece distinguishes itself by the bold composition, and the elongated and twisted depictions.
