Nossa Senhora da Misericórdia Collegiate Church

Located near the gate of the medieval village of Ourém, the Collegiate Church was founded by D. Afonso in 1445, with the consent of the Pope Eugénio IV. Destroyed by the earthquake of 1755, the temple was rebuilt between 1758 and 1766, following the dimensions and the floorplan of the former building. From the original structure it remains only a part of the apse and the medieval crypt, which houses the grave of D. Afonso, 4th Count of Ourém.
