Nossa Senhora da Graça Church – Lapas

Originally built in 1550 by Marcos Lopes, the Nossa Senhora da Graça Church was partially rebuilt in 1883 and enlarged in 1963.

On the inside it stands out the seventeenth-century blue and yellow tiles on the nave and on the choir. See the triumphal arch of the presbytery, which is flanked by two arches with superb altarpieces with seventeenth-century gilded carving. On the altarpiece of the right side altar, find the beautiful wood image of Nossa Senhora da Vitória with Baby Jesus, which it is said to have been found in the Lapas Caves. Under the throne there is a bas-relief in stone from the 15th century with the Crucified Christ between two angels.
