Nossa Senhora da Conceição Church – Mação

The Nossa Senhora da Conceição Church, which currently serves as parish, was built at the end of the 16th century by order of King Filipe I. The building is characterised by the mannerist style and by having a rectangular floorplan. The façade is marked by the position of the bell tower, which was built on the left side and detached from the frontispiece line. Two sacristies of different dimensions were built near the body of the church, one next to each of the lateral walls.

Unveil the interior which is divided by three naves covered by a wood ceiling and with arches based on Tuscan columns. At the main altar there is a reproduction of the Last Supper of Domenico Ghirlandaio, executed by the Italian painter Leopoldo Battistini in 1931.
