Nossa Senhora da Assunção Parish Church

Founded in 1623, the Nossa Senhora da Assunção Parish Church is a baroque temple composed by a sole nave. On the façade of the building, it stands out the baroque curved pediment. The bell tower of eastern influence ends in a spire.

Inside the church, one can admire the seventeenth-century carving, remarkably done, highlighting the Saint Ana’s Joanine altar and the Maria Madalena’s more sober altar. At the main altar find a golden tabernacle in stone, dated from 1547. The presbytery has an eighteenth-century wall covering with tile panels and friezes, which represent biblical episodes.
