| Built in the third quarter of the 18th century, the Montalvo Parish Church is a building with just one nave, rectangular floorplan, simple lines on the façade and a bell tower on the side of the main body.
Inside, the space reserved to the faithful is separated from the main altar by a round arch and in the past there was also a barrier, whose marks are still visible on the floor slabs. Admire the baptismal font, crowned with a small tiles panel depicting the baptism of Christ, the two holy water fonts and the eighteenth-century’s statue of the patron Nossa Senhora da Assunção in painted wood. |
