Misericórdia Church of Sertã

The Misericórdia of Sertã, created around 1547, must have built the church of the fraternity in the years following its foundation. The Misericórdia Church has a single nave without presbytery. The walls have many windows of simple straight frame. The inside is covered by a tripartite wood ceiling, with the coat of arms of the Misericórdia, painted by Joaquim da Silva Motta, at the centre. Admire the main altar in gilded carving, the rich tile panels from the 18th century, the Renaissance portico and the Gothic window.

It was classified as Public Interest Property in 2003.
