| The Carlos Reis Municipal Museum has four long-term exhibitions. Three are about the local history, archaeology and sacred art, while the other focuses on the paintings by Carlos Reis.
At the painting centre, discover around 30 works by the “master”, such as landscapes and portraits, which reveal the fondness of the painter for the representation of the daily life and the countryside. The majority of the works on exhibition at the other centres were donations made by institutions or sole proprietors, as well as works from the depository. The collection of the museum is, therefore, quite heterogeneous in respective with the sort of works on exhibition, which means it is extremely rich patrimonial wise and it has a distinctive nature from all the local museums in the region. |
