Old Castle

Close to the right bank of the River Tagus, the Old Castle dominates the landscape. It was strategically built close to 250 metres higher than the streams of Eiras, Arizal and Caratão. There is only one section of wall left from the original defensive system.

Among the items found, there is a sickle and two shale adzes, a considerable number of metallic objects, such as a chisel, pins and needles, daggers, arrowheads, sword blades, and some jewellery.
