“Conheiras”

The “Conheiras” are heaps of shingles, which resulted from the digging and mining exploration of gold performed in open air by the romans.

The municipality of Vila de Rei has 45 examples of these archaeological sites, which are considered the most numerous and peculiar among the ones identified in the Iberian Peninsula.
