Azereiro Route

Walk through small farms and a forest area formed by pine trees, eucalyptus and arbutus at the Azereiro Route. This is a circular footpath which stretches along 10.1 km and is completed in close to four hours.

One can also enjoy the Castelo do Bode reservoir, having as background the river Zêzere. The village of Moinhos da Ribeira, with its underwater mills, is another mandatory place to visit. See along the path the rare Portuguese laurel cherry, an indigenous species, which is on the list of endangered species.

This is a path of medium difficulty level, which can be walked on during any season of the year, although it is recommended mainly during spring and autumn.
