![]() | The Boquilobo Bog is a humid area where birds, namely colonies of herons and waterfowls, fly over the floodplain rich in swamps. Regarding the local’s characteristic flora, the groves of willows, aquatic plants and reeds stand out. It is located about 7 km away from Torres Novas, near the confluence of the rivers Almonda and Tagus.
This natural sanctuary, classified as a Nature Reserve since 1980, is part of the Network of Biosphere Reserve (UNESCO) and the List of Wetlands of International Importance (RAMSAR Convention) since 1981 and 1996 respectively. |
