Routes

The River Nabão rises in Ansião and flows afterwards through the municipalities of Ourém, where the water from the spring of Agroal joins the watercourse, and Tomar, where it splits the city into two. After a path of 66 km it flows into the right bank of the River Zêzere.

During summer, take the chance to enjoy the cold waters, with fame of being healing, at the river beach of Agroal. The visitors can also take a stroll through the Nature Park of Agroal and discover the fauna and flora which surround this part of the path of the river Nabão.

In the city of Tomar, the river embellishes the historic centre and freshens up the Mouchão Park, where there is a still working wood water wheel. While relishing the shadows of the trees, take a glance at the D. Manuel I Bridge, the Templar Castle and the King’s Mills and Presses from the small island at the middle of the river.
