| The José Cardoso Pires Municipal Library has as main purpose to contribute for the personal, cultural and social development of all its visitors. It comprises a section for adults, a children section, a multipurpose room, an auditorium and the José Cardoso Pires Room, where there are the belongings of the writer born in Vila de Rei.
The adults reading room houses the Priest João Maia Studies Centre. The collection comprises many works by the Priest João Maia, as well as other books kindly donated by the Company of Jesus, not only about its history but also Portugal’s, including monographs of civic and public interest. |
