| The Gustavo Pinto Lopes Municipal Library is part of the National Network of Public Libraries, being the new building the result of a contract-programme celebrated on 24 March 2004 between the Municipal Council of Torres Novas and the Culture Ministry, Directorate-general of Books and Libraries.
The building is located at the centre of the city and has an area of approximately 3200 m2. It houses the Municipal Archive and the Cabinet of Studies and Editorial Planning.
