| The Avecasta’s Cave is an archaeological site which was almost always occupied from the Neolithic period until the Middle Ages. It is believed that it must have housed a settlement during the Bronze Age. Its archaeological interest stems from the unique conservation of the structures of the many overlaid villages, which had been sealed and preserved by various layers of fine clay.
The occupation since the Chalcolithic until the roman period is especially relevant, existing evidences of metallurgic exploration of copper, being represented all steps of the operation. |
